AutoTether is compatible with Android's built-in mobile hotspot feature as well as two popular free tethering apps: Wireless Tether for Root Users and Barnacle Wifi Tether.

WHAT DOES IT DO?
The worst part of using your cell phone as a mobile hotspot is that you normally have to choose between convenience and battery life. Either you always leave the phone’s hotspot on or you have to fumble through settings menus every time you want to start and stop tethering. AutoTether simplifies all of that: now you can enable and disable the hotspot feature on your mobile phone without ever taking your phone out of your pocket, purse, or briefcase!
WILL IT WORK WITH MY DEVICE?
This program works with tablets like the Nook Color, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom, and Asus Transformer.
AutoTether is compatible with your phone's built-in tethering feature (accessible through Settings > Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot). Many popular ROMs have this feature, including the most recent versions of CyanogenMod. AutoTether also works with the latest experimental versions of the popular apps "Wireless Tether for Root Users" and "Barnacle Wifi Tether."
HOW DO I USE IT?
This app must be installed on both your mobile phone and your tablet, and Bluetooth must be enabled on both devices. To get started, set up the app as a SERVER on your mobile phone, and run it in CLIENT mode on your wifi-only device. Be sure to try out the two included homescreen widgets for even faster tethering.
AutoTether can also turn the hotspot on and off according to your tablet’s screen state, ensuring that you'll always have mobile internet access when you need it!
